Some people may be puzzled by this word : “Jas” ?
In any case, it should not be confused with the same term, which for sailors evokes the crossbar of an anchor that forms a cross with the stem. In fact, there’s little or no connection.
Historically, in our region, the name “Jas” was given to a shepherd’s hut. It’s easy to conclude that, as the years went by, this one stretched out a little and gained enough weight to become a Château and house within its perimeter a tasting cellar for a very noble appellation, that of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Now, to finish with the name of this site, the term “Jas” is naturally accompanied by the family name of its original owner, which we wanted to keep as a tribute to the past.
So here you are, in the heart of the “Château Jas de Bressy”, planted in the middle of its vineyard in the sunset of the Château des Fines Roches. It’s here that we look forward to welcoming you to taste our different cuvées and share with you our passion for vines and wine.
