The Mousset-Barrot Vineyards in Châteauneuf du Pape
Situated between Avignon and Orange, at the foot of the famous château of Châteauneuf du Pape and the similarly well-known Château des Fines Roches, the former residence of the Mousset family, the vineyards stretch over 140 hectares and include the Château des Fines Roches and Château Jas de Bressy of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation as well as the Château Bois de la Garde area in the east, part of the Côtes-du-Rhône and Côtes du Rhône Villages appellations. Over the years, the Mousset-Barrot vineyards have remained a family business. Today, Catherine and Robert’s two daughters manage the business along with Fred, their son-in-law, an oenologist with demanding requirements, who works in perfect harmony with Robert, who still plays an active role in wine production. The family has a real attachment to the local area and its traditions, creating their wines with patience and passion in the château’s cellars to offer an amazing blend of flavours. After a look around the Château des Fines Roches, a visit to the wine-tasting cellar gives you the chance to discover the exceptional wines from the Mousset-Barrot vineyards, along with the majestic Provençal culture and landscapes which have played such a role in the history and the reputation of this place.
